The Amar Dragoste team faces this year 2022 with great enthusiasm and high expectations and motivation to continue contributing to the rescue of women victims of human trafficking and also to assist, train and accompany them so that they can change and improve their lives.
We face this new year with the strength that comes from knowing that in 2021 we contributed to the rescue of 22 women, 22 new lives that are now removed from exploitation, pain, desperation and the violation of human rights.
Moreover, we were able to welcome 20 women in our Casa Refugio and we were delighted to celebrate the graduation of eight women who have achieved social and economic autonomy, away from the world of exploitation. We are sure that in 2022 many more women will achieve this, thanks also to your support and collaboration.
A year 2021 in which we also reached over 1,000 people through our awareness workshops with the police, social services, universities…
The return and consolidation of Coffee Life
This past 2021 also meant the return, after the forced closure of the hospitality industry at the beginning of the year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, of our solidarity Coffee Life. This is a unique and very special initiative through which anyone can collaborate with us both in person or by contributing through our online solidarity coffees.
But there’s more: our commitment to citizenship has also led us to distribute food for about 700 people, a task that we will maintain and increase also in this 2022.
We received three awards!
The work we do every day to improve the lives of people victims of human trafficking has not gone unnoticed in 2021. Because of this, last Septemberour ‘Coffee Life’ won the second prize in the first contest of Gastronomic Culture of Alcorcón, thanks to our steak toast. We remind you that our coffee shop is located at calle Islas Cíes, 1 (Alcorcón – metro Puerta del Sur).
On November 30th we received the Premio Lazo Violeta (Purple Ribbon Prize) awarded by the City Council of Alcorcón to different entities that fight for the eradication of gender violence.
And on December 14th we received the 1st Recognition of entities and companies committed to the YMCA.
We launched our online solidarity store
Another major milestone for Amar Dragoste in 2021 was the launch of our online solidarity store. It is a very special corner where you can find jewelry and other products made by the women victims of human trafficking themselves in the training workshops we conduct with them.
You can shop comfortbaly here and contribute with very little to a great cause.
